CARRIEGerman Title:
Carrie - Des Satans jüngste Tochter
USA, 1976
Director: Brian De Palma
9,5/10
Brian de Palma's fantastic adaptation of Stephen King's brilliant novel of the same name. I would even go so far as to say that I enjoyed it more than the book. Visually it's absolutely stunning: outstanding camera work, wonderful use of powerful colors and terrific editing. It's tense and thrilling, a bit scary and also pretty emotional - and gladly it never gets boring. The cast is excellent, loads of awesome performances from Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, P.J. Soles & John Travolta - and the whole prom scene is undoubtedly one of the greatest scenes in the history of horror.
Masterpiece!
I have to give this movie a 10 because it covers just about everything I love about horror. A bullied person seeking revenge, great acting, more phrases than any other movie.
ReplyDelete("plug it up!", and "creepy Carrie"). Piper Laurie's perfect "physco" mom performance. John Travolta-the list goes on and on. My favorite part is when the red lights go on in the gym, and Carrie gets ready to kick some ass!!
