BRAIN DEAD

BRAIN DEAD

USA, 2007
Director: Kevin S. Tenney

5/10

It took me by surprise when I realized a few days ago that Kevin Tenney, the director behind the 80s cult classics "Night Of The Demons" and "Witchboard", is still alive and directing. His latest horror flick: "Brain Dead" (not to be confused with "Braindead"), a silly and campy low budget horror-comedy in the vein of "Night Of The Creeps".
The plot is uninspired and shiftless, the acting is rather weak, it's badly paced and never really tense or even suspenseful. Thankfully there are loads of hilarious over-the-top gore and gooey alien-slime, a bunch of fun-looking zombies and some highly entertaining dialogue
("Oh fuck, I've been shot!" - "Oh shit. Is it bad?" - "Have you ever been shot when it's good??").
The perfect movie for a boring Sunday afternoon.
