Actually I expected this to be some kinda entertaining sharksploitation flick but it eventually turned out to be a superboring 90s-thriller with only a few sharks thrown in.
It's incredibly tedious with absolutely no single tense or thrilling moment. The acting is lame, the characters are all annoyingly stereotyped and the plot is so unbelievably predictable, it's almost unbearable.
The shark scenes are quite ok but sadly that doesn't help much. This movie just sucks.

I remember actually being excited about this for some reason when it was getting ready to premiere on HBO way back when. I do love me a shark movie, but I don't think I even made it all the way through this one. Terrible flick, and I'm not 100% sure but I think this may have been where it all started to go wrong for Casper.
ReplyDeleteexactly. Sleepy Hollow in the same year but then in the 00s just TV-lamecrap flicks with titles like Dracula 3000, The Curse Of King Tut's Tomb or Mask Of The Ninja
ReplyDeleteI think the Jaws movies satisfied any craving I had to watch people getting attacked by sharks.
ReplyDeleteI actually thought this one was sweet as hell when I assumed it would be terrible. I couldnt believe that they actually had model sharks in the film, and as cheap and cheesy as the deaths were, they were pretty frequent. A guilty pleasure of mine for sure!
