R.I.P Irwin Keyes

*sigh* Another legend has left us! Prolific genre / TV actor IRWIN KEYES passed away at the age of 63.

After minor appearances in various genre / exploitation classics like "The Warriors" (1979), "Friday the 13th" (1980), "Chained Heat" (1983) or both "Exterminator" films (1983 + 1984), he was actually considered for the role of Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven's "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984). Well, as we all know, he didn't get the part - but he continued shooting all kinds of horror, sci-fi, action etc. films up until his death, for example: "Frankenstein General Hospital" (1988), "Disturbed" (1990), "The Silence of the Hams" (1994), "Oblivion 1+2" (1994/1996), "Asylum" (1997), Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses" (2003), "Dahmer vs. Gacy" (2010) or "Evil Bong 3D" (2011).

Outside of horror, he appeared in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories" (1980), "Death Wish 4" (1987), "The Flintstones" (1994), "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas" (2000), "Intolerable Cruelty" (2003), "Wristcutters: A Love Story" (1996) or "Black Dynamite" (2009), as well as in TV series like "The Jeffersons", "Married With Children", "Growing Pains", "Tales from the Crypt" or "C.S.I.".

Rest in Peace, Irwin Keyes
1952 - 2015
